Sumiko stood in line at the local Mc.Donalds, waiting for her turn to order her food, which here lately was the most normal thing she has done in a while.Things had been sort of crazy since that one night where that girl, Destiny, Sumiko had learned that the girl's name was, had parished trying to save her. It seemed that the girl had lots of friends, and none seemed to be thrilled that it was their friend that had died and not Sumiko. But she didn't let their bribs get to her. She understand that they were just upset because of what happened. They weren't actually mad that Destiny had saved Sumiko, but just that she had died by those thugs. To make things worse, Destiny had been pregnant, by who Sumiko didn't know. She only knew what the papers wrote, and she was sure that she should not believe over half of what was written in the papers. They just wanted a story, no matter what the costs. Even if it destroyed a persons life. She this better then most. CeCe had mentioned her in her artical, mentioned that it was more or less her fault that Destiny had died. She had read the artical and cried. She was not the fault of her death. Those thugs were.
The line moved up, but slowly. Sumiko looked down at her wrist, at the watch that had rested on it. She did not have too long before she was due at work. She was suppose to be selling shirts and posters for the bands that night. They required that she be there well before the show so that they could get the merchindse organized the way they wanted it. An organized way. That was what she was hired for. It was not a job she actually enjoyed, but it paid her rent and allowed her not to go back home to Japan, where she was sure her parents would make sure she was ready for the arranged marriage they had set up with another family. Apparently, Sumiko had been told when she was informed of the arrangement, the supposed groom was not going to back out, and that he too was somewhere over in Americas. Her mother was already planning the marriage, so sure that Sumiko would not disagree. It would bring her family dishonor, and even Sumiko couldn't do that. She loved her family too much to cause them dishonor. They were a respectable family, had been for ages. She wasn't going to mess their reputation up. Or she might. Sumiko sighed.
Then it was her turn to order. She looked up at the menu. There wasn't too much up there that she was actually going to get. She was a vegitarian, and Mc.Donalds just didn't have too much of anything that didn't have meat. " I'd like a salad with italian dressing, a medium fry, and a sprite no ice please." Sumiko informed the person working. She paid the amount due and stood off to the side to wait for her meal. It was fairly crowded, which sort of surprised Sumiko, although if she had noticed that it was lunch hour she wouldn't have really been surprised. Sumiko stand in the corner, looking all sorts of shy.
