Keep It Caroline had preformed one probably one of the best shows in their existances, so far anyways. As always, Dee-Dee was intoxicated from the 'after party' that followed the show. While she did drink a fair amount, she wasn't feeling all that drunk. She could walk straight, and for the most part think straight. It wasn't as if Dee-Dee hadn't tried getting piss drunk, it just wasn't sticking. Her head was too clouded with the phone call she had recieved from her mother's doctor. Apparently she had been checked into the local hospital the night before because of some heart troubles. Her mother had almost had a heart attack, and probably would have died if she did because Dee-Dee had been on tour, leaving no one else to care for her mother.
As of late things seemed to be wearing Dee-Dee down. Like all the partying she just couldn't get out of her system. The tour had taken her far from home, and in a way, she supposed she was mostly just homesick. She would be the first to admit that she missed her mother something fierce. Most people on tour, Dee-Dee knew, were just like her. They all had families they had had to leave behind. Some had kids of their own, and Dee-Dee wasn't sure how they had left those kids. Dee-Dee, for all her partying, had never gotten pregnant, something her mother was greatfull for. Destiny Emmaline Whitney was just not one for kids. Not now anyways, in the peek of her youth.
Dee-Dee made her way through the rows of tour buses and vans that littered the back of the concert hall. This was how all these bands in the tour managed to get around. It was late, and not many people were actually in the parking lot. It was an strange feeling. This whole day she had felt like something was going to happen. Something bad. At first she had thought they would bomb the show, but that had gone over perfectly. Dee-Dee hadn't thought about the feeling until now, as she walked in silence. Dee-Dee had never liked the silence, perhaps that was a reason she partied as hard as she did.
She was about to reach the Keep It Caroline tour bus when she heard a ear, heart, peircing scream. It had practically stopped her heart. Without really thinking, Dee-Dee ran towards the noise, scared of what she would find, but unable to stop herself. She had more courage than sense, her mother had always told her. Dee-Dee was the kind of person who just had to help someone in need. Unforunately she hadn't stopped to think of what she could do. She didn't have her gun, or any other weapon, but that didn't stop her from running.
Dee-Dee turned down down a row and stopped short. Ahead of her, she could see what was happening. There was a shape in the middle of a large group of guys. The shape, Dee-Dee knew instantly was what had screamed. It was a victim of whatever was happening. She moved silently towards the group, needing an element of surprise if she had any hope of saving the person. When she was close enough, she carefully grabbed a trash can lid and then slammed it against one of their heads. The person went down fast, and caused everyone to look startled at her.
" Leave 'em the fuck alone." She said angrily, hopeing that they would be sensible and leave, since it was obvious that others could hear what was going on. ' And what are you goin' to do if we don't?' One of them said as he turned to face her. The victim in the middle quickly tried to scramble herself up, however, one of the guys grabbed hold of her quickly. ' You ain't goin' no where' Dee-Dee couldn't make out who they were, but knew they were dangerous.
Dee-Dee immidately went to attack the person who had grabbed the other girl, for she could now see it was infact a female she was saving. There was a loud BOOM crackling sound. A peircing pain struck Dee-Dee in the chest. Her eyes grew wide as she turned her head to see a gun being pointed at her, smoke in the air from being shot. Her mouth was slightly opened, in shock. Dee-Dee fail to her knees. Her world begun to fade to black, but she could hear the guys running off, cursing each other. And the sound of the girl's screams....
The girl screamed her lungs off, ran over to the person who had saved her life. She took her into her lap and started screaming for help, hoping someone would come. She put her hand against the wound. " Please don't die on me! " She begged in both english and japanese. Tears were streaming down her face. She could hear the ambulance in the distance as it made its way to them. Her hands had been pressing on the wound, trying to stopp all the blood from spilling forth. She was rocking the girl back in forth, her nervous shot to all hell.
When they arrived, the EMS and police had to block off people from the scene. They put up bounderies to hopefully stop them from seeing what had happened. The EMS put Dee-Dee's body on a stretcher, very doubtful that they would be able to save the girl's life. The victim, Sumiko, rode in the ambulance with Dee-Dee has they made their way to the nearest hospital. Three minutes into the ride, Dee-Dee passed away.
