Words are flying out like endless rain into a paper cup ______________
Christian was in quite quite a good mood, if asked he probably would have said the same thing. He and his band had just got done preforming, and so he was hanging out back stage, drinking juice. Yes, juice. Well, actually it was kool aid, but the fact was that while everyone else was drinking some sort of alcoholic beverage the young man was sipping on kool aid, and listening to whatever band was preforming with a distant smile on his distant face. He was pretty damn sure he and his band had totally rocked face, so that was most of the cause for his good mood. Plus, well, it had just been a good day. Boring, but good nonetheless.
He took the last drink of his kool aid out of the clear plastic cup, then looked around. He really needed some water. Singing could take a lot out of your voice, it really could. Luckily for him for once in his life he had remembered to bring a bottle of water. He picked up the bottle at his feet, which he had gotten for a dollar at a corner store, and took a swig. It wasn't anything special, but it was water, even if it was a tad bit warm. But it definitely soothed his burning throat a bit. It was burning in a good way, but it was burning nonetheless.
As the band who had just got done preforming got off stage he nodded at them. "Good job." He said, politely, even though he hadn't been listening to them. He was really a nice guy, in the way that he liked to make people feel better about themselves. And in every other way, pretty much. There was never really a situation for him to be a total jack ass to anyone. well, on occasion, but only if you caught him in a rare bad mood. He sighed a bit, in a content way, then replaced the cap on his bottle of water before leaning off the wall, and walking. Where was he going? He didn't know. Most where outside smoking cigarettes, or something of the sort, but he didn't smoke. Just as he started walking, though, he bumped into someone. Not hard enough to knock them over, just hard enough to make his head jolt up, and a slight blush cross over his cheeks.
"Damn it!" He said, running a hand through his closely cropped hair. "Sorry about that. I should have been looking where I was going." He grinned his charming grin, baring his white teeth, and looked at the poor person he had bumped into.

••• We don't notice any time passWe don't notice anything. ••• ••• june, 9:30 PM, backstage•••
It was absolutely beautiful in California which came as a huge surprise to Darcy O'Riley who was a native New Yorker. She expected California to be like New York, clustered, busy and dirty but boy was she wrong. In Pomona, everything was nice and quiet (if you were away from the tour anyway.) and peaceful and she could actually see the stars for a change without her view being blocked by trees and skyscrapers and the occasional stray pigeon.
The sky was absolutely breathtaking and Darcy had never felt so peaceful and relaxed before. When in a New York state of mind, everything can be so hectic but now she felt like she could really just enjoy California and take in the view at least until her band had their first performance the next night. On the "When You Were Young Tour", each band took shifts as to when they would perform at each stop and the first performances were that night leaving the rest for tomorrow and then they would switch back again. It meant less work for Perception! but still made Darcy and the gang feel a bit restless.
She wanted to listen to some of the other bands and hear if any of them were worth listening to and so far they were. Empty Threat had just finished up and Darcy thought they were pretty damn good for a group out of California. She was sitting backstage near the entrance to the parking lot which was the perfect seat because she could see and hear everything that was going on on and off stage. She stood up and brushed herself off. She figured she'd go and congratulate the band on a job well done. If she was going to chill out with tonight's acts, the least she could do was be nice.
She stood up and made her way closer to the stage and found herself nearly being knocked over by some guy. He was tall and had short brown hair, and wasn't half bad looking. He seemed to be really embarassed about bumping in to her which brought a slight smile to her face. Her green eyes looked up at him and she smiled, he was kind of cute. Immediately he began to appologise. Laughing she shook her head, "It's fine, man. Shit happens." she said, studying him a bit more. He had one of those infectious smiles, and seemed like a sweet guy. Most guys would've just grunted and moved on but he took the time to appologise which was something Darcy admired. She looked down and saw that he was holding a waterbottle, "Not much of a drinker, eh?" she asked with another grin. That was another suprise to her, most rockstars drank vodka and beer like crazy.

Words are flying out like endless rain into a paper cup ______________
Christian was urprised to see that the woman he had bumped into so rudely had not totally freaked out on him. Most of the time they did, he found. Not that eh could blame them, it was never fun to get bumped into, especially not when you were A) about to go on stage and nervous or B) just got off stage and thought you did a horrible job. But this girl seemed very chill, it was refreshing, he liked her already. It wasn't very rare that he liked someone so quickly, he was a generally friendly guy. Even if someone were to walk up to him with a gun in hand and say they were going to kill him he would probably start out liking the man...and probably keep liking him until he started to pull the trigger. Yes, he wasn't much like his twin brother. While his brother was the tough guy who was always getting in trouble Christian was the sweet guy who tried to keep him out of trouble...it didn't usually work, though.
"Glad to see you're not a psycho who's going to yell at me about that little accident." He said, flashing her another smile, before letting his face return to it's normal state. While he did like to smile he didn't usually over do it. He didn't want anyone thinking he was some kind of scary guy who smiled all the time...and he knew that people who smiled all the time scared the living hell out of him, so they probably did the same to most people. Following her eyes down to his water bottle a faint blush took over his cheeks. It probably wasn't even noticeable, but it was embarrassing. He always blushed like a little two year old girl when he was embarrassed, or nervous, and he was embarrassed about the fact that he didn't drink. Everyone else did. Actually, he did too...just only on very special occasions.
"Nah. Only sometimes." And those sometimes he usually ended up getting trashed. Christmas parties, New years Eve, or when he was depressed were probably the most common. Oh, and his birthday, that too. "Mostly I prefer to stick with water. I like being the only one within a mile who can actually walk straight." He was joking...kind of. It was pretty true though. He knew that everyone in the audience was probably smashed, his whole band would be soon, and he liked that he wasn't as wild as them. even if it was a bore at times. "I'm Christian," He added, holding out his hand for a handshake. "Nice to meet you."

Darcy would have never thought that she would've met someone as interesting as this guy was. He defiantely wasn't like everyone else here and it was refreshing. She was starting to get sick of the same old people with the same old hobbies and habits. New people were much more fun.
She grinned at his comment about her not being psycho about him bumping into him. She shook her head and grinned "Nah, I may be slightly psychotic but I'm not that bad." she joked. She has always been crazy but more in a good way than a bad way. She was the type of girl who would go and make conversations with random strangers or just said some really bizarre things. She wasn't the type of crazy that included burning down houses or throwing bitch fits.
"Nah, only sometimes." he said when she mentioned his not drinking. She nodded her head and glanced at his waterbottle once more. She laughed "Yeah, being able to walk straight is definately an advnatage to not drinking alcohol." she shrugged. Most of the guys in her band drank like crazy which would often lead to some crazy antics, it definately wasn't boring but got tiring after a while. It was nice to see someone who wasn't ike the typical rockstar, it was fresh and new.
She took his hand and shook it. "Christian, eh? That's a pretty rad name." she said. "I'm Darcy. It's nice to meet you too." she replied warmly. One perk to being a rockstar was definately meeting new people. As a people person, Darcy loved how she was able to go to places like Pomona and meet new people like Christian, it made life less boring.

Words are flying out like endless rain into a paper cup ______________
Had Christian called her interesting he probably would have laughed, thought she was joking. Him? Interesting? He didn't think so in the least. Maybe his brother was, but he considered himself a dull person. With his drinking habits, or lack of, and the fact that he was much less crazy than the rest of the people on tour he knew most considered him boring. But maybe it was the fact that he was so much different than most other musicians that made him a bit interesting. Maybe.
Slightly Psychotic? He was figuring that was a joke. She certainly seemed as though she were joking. Plus he probably wouldn't judge her even if she wasn't. Some of the funnest people were slightly insane. Because contrary to popular belief he did tend to drift more towards the crazy people than the boring ones like himself. They were so much more interesting to him...most likely because he was so much different than them. "Well, nothing wrong with being slightly psychotic." He said, flashing his white toothed smile. Lots of people commented on his teeth. While they were not the most perfectly straight set of teeth, as he had some slightly overly long canines, they were still wonderfully white, anyone had to admit that.
'Yeah, being able to walk straight is definately an advnatage to not drinking alcohol.'
As he heard that he agreed with her silently in his head. He knew that from the few occasions he did drink...because when he did drink, it tended to be just a bit too much. So even if he didn't always get totally hammered he usually got at least "tipsy". And, of course, he had gotten hammered before. The last time he'd had anything to drink was on New Years Eve, and he couldn't even walk home from the party he'd attended. Or drive. He'd ended up having a friend drive him home, and hardly being able to remember the night, other than what he saw in the papers the next day, and the tales he heard from others. Apparently he had danced on a bar, and fell off.
"Thanks. Your name's pretty great as well. Don't hear it too often, I like it." He loved giving compliments, even if it was just returning the favor, and even if they were slightly lame. But it was true in this case, he hadn't ever met a single person with the name Darcy before.

"Exactly! Life's more fun when you're slightly psychotic." she agreed jokingly. She was glad that he wasn't freaked out by her bizarre sense of humor or how she had just admited to being sslightly psychotic. Most people would have and probably would have come up with an excuse to get as far away from her as possible she supossed but Christian didn't, she thought that was pretty rad of him. And yes, she did use words like rad in everyday life.
She also thought it interesting that he wasn't much of a drinker. That still blew her mind. She just couldn't get over it, she had actually found a rockstar who didn't care for alcohol too much. She couldn't wait until the guys heard this. People like that were seen as almost mythical to her friends. But guys like Christian who didn't drink as if their ife depended on it, did exsist and she now had Christian as proof.
"Really? Thanks. That's definately the first time I was ever complimented on my name." she said with a small grin. It was the truth, in all actuality Darcy wasn't that special of a name, it was quite boring to be honest. She would've never thought that anyone would ever think anything of her name. This Christia guy just got better and better the more they talked.

Words are flying out like endless rain into a paper cup ______________
In truth even if Christian had been freaked out at her he probably wouldn't say anything about it, or even show it. He was ever the gentleman. But as it was he didn't consider her freaky in the least. A little odd, perhaps, but he'd never minded odd. He found that if you looked hard enough everyone was on in their own way...some people just made it a bit more noticeable than others. And those people were always proven to be the funnest. Even if he wasn't exactly the most exciting person ever he always liked to hang out with more exciting people. But who didn't?
"Very true." he agreed, with a good natured smile. He was the guy who was always smiling. The one who scared some people with his smile...but he'd much rather be known as the one who always smile than the one who always frowns.
When she said that she'd never been complimented on her name he honestly looked confused. He truly did like her name...maybe it wasn't an odd name, like some musicians had, but it was interesting, and it wasn't all that over used. Like Emily, or Sarah. "Really? That's surprising. It's a nice name. I really do like it."

After putting up with the band drama that mostly consumed her life. It was nice talking to someone who was so easy-going. Most people would've been slightly scared by someone who smiled as much as he did but she didn't mind. In fact, she liked it. It made things less awkward and tense. According to Darcy's mother there were two types of people in the world, the Eeyores and the Tiggers. Christian seemed like a Tigger which was definately nice. Although, as she thought this she began to wonder why she was thinking about fictional animals.
Her thoughts were interuppted by him agreeing with her comment about psychos having more fun. She couldn't help but laugh at this. "Ha! I'm glad you agree." was all she was able to say. Anything else would've really scared him away by now. Espeacially if she started talking about Eeyores and Tiggers. Even a gut as nice as Christian would probably be slightly weirded out by that one. But then again, her mother's sayings usually had that effect on people.
"You really think so?" she asked him. Her name wasn't as boring as say, Emily or Jane but there still wasn't anything really specatacular about it. "Enough about names. Tell me a bit more about you. Like why are you on this tour?" she said changing the subject. She could care less about her name, what she really wanted to know was more about Christian.
