Alright, so since Haylie's the new photographer for Empty Threat I think she'll probably have to get on with at least most of the band members, or she wouldn't have been hired. She could always have known either the twins or Anelie when they lived in England, which is a reason why she got the job - when did they move to California? She moved two years ago and lived in or near London for at least part of her life, when she was twelve.
Other than Empty Threat, I'd guess she'd have friends/enemies/lovers in the other bands too. She's quite shy and very focussed on her photography. She loves most music and is secretly teaching herself acoustic guitar - but she doesn't have the self-confidence to let anyone find out. She's also vegetarian
One idea I've had for a plot is that she hasn't told anyone about how her parents forbade her from coming on tour - someone could overhear a phone conversation where she's arguing with them and they're trying to persuade her to come home. Pretty much any revelation about her family - how badly she gets on with her parents, that her brother has leukaemia/down's syndrome - could lead to some interesting interaction with Haylie.
If anyone's interested in having Haylie greatly dislike/hate them, an easy way to go about that is to say something bad about her brother, or just in passing about anyone with a disability. Or using stereotypes... or gossiping... or being cruel.

Emily and Haylie
Hmm...well, I think Emily and Haylie could be close friends. Emily's fairly outgoing, so she could be trying to break Haylie out of her shell or something? Maybe she could be the one to overhear Haylie on the phone? I'm...horrible at plots, so if you have any other ideas, that's cool. [/sup]

Sounds good. Do you think they should be friends before Emily hears the phone conversation? Or that would be the prompting for their friendship?
